Flexible Childcare Program for ACTRA Toronto Parents

At ACTRA Toronto, we understand that our members who are parents and guardians have unique challenges when trying to secure childcare — childcare that can be both unaffordable and difficult to access for last minute and short-term needs, like auditions.

So here’s some good news.

ACTRA Toronto’s Flexible Childcare Program means ACTRA members in good standing (Full, Apprentice, AABP), can reserve childcare from The Summerhill Club:

• at the discounted rate of $25/hr (Regular rate is $31 for a discount of $6 per hour)
• and with any rush fees waived when booking for service within 24hrs (that’s $30 waived!)

The Summerhill Club’s childcare workers can also meet with you where it’s most convenient, whether it be at your home, their home, an audition location or on set, to name a few examples. Please note that a 4 hr minimum applies per booking for the sake of the childcare provider.

All Summerhill Club childcare workers are CPR Level C certified (infant through adult), police checked, screened, trained and fully vaccinated.

With the support of Balancing Act Canada, an organization dedicated to increasing access, equity, and opportunity for parents and caregivers working in screen-based media and the arts, ACTRA Toronto is offering 50% off childcare bookings through our partner, The Summerhill Club, on a 4-hour booking (the Club’s minimum booking requirement).

Thanks to Level UP!, we’re excited to explore the evolving needs of our members through this pilot and work toward expanding caregiver support offerings in the future.

This initiative launches May 25.

Spaces are limited, so we encourage members to book early (one use per member). The program will remain available until all bursary funds have been allocated.

Request Childcare Services

Click the button below to sign up for Childcare service on the Summerhill Club website. On the Request a Service form, please include your ACTRA Toronto Membership number, as it appears on your ACTRA Toronto Membership card (e.g. EX-12345, AM-12345 or 04-12345).

Important Note

To access the Flexible Childcare Program’s discounted rates, you must be an ACTRA Toronto member in good standing at the time of booking.

If your membership is not in good standing, you can still access childcare but at The Summerhill Club’s regular rates.
