ACTRA marks 1,500 days of the commercial lockout
Dear ACTRA Toronto members,
Fifteen hundred days is not a threshold we ever wanted to reach. Today marks a solemn day for thousands of performers across the country who have been impacted by a devastating commercial dispute. Our lives as artists are precarious and the decimation of a vital source of income has been grief-inducing for many of us. Myself included.
In fact, the same can be said for many of your elected leaders who were inspired to lean in as a result of this crisis. For 1,500 days, we have not put this fight down.
And we certainly aren’t satisfied with the status quo. We are organizing, we are strategizing, and we are aiming to end this thing.
Please join us at the ACTRA Toronto Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 23 to learn more and be part of the change that builds our power and capacity to fight.
In solidarity,
Kate Ziegler
ACTRA Toronto President
