DESCRIPTION:TAW*C is hosting a Self Care & Love Seminar on Friday\, December 5\, 2025\, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. ET in the ACTRA Toronto Boardroom (625 Church St\, suite 200\, Toronto\, ON). This event is open to women\, non-binary\, transgender members\, and TAW*C members. \nAs we all know\, our industry can be incredibly rewarding—but also uniquely demanding. \nConstant auditions\, unpredictable schedules\, public scrutiny\, long days on set\, and the emotional labour that comes with creative work can deeply impact our mental and emotional well-being. \nThat’s why taking care of ourselves and believing in ourselves—isn’t just helpful\, it’s essential. Prioritizing our inner balance\, resilience\, and grounding allows us to show up as our best\, most authentic selves in both our work and personal lives. \nThis seminar is designed to support exactly that. \nTAW*C is honoured to welcome Tish Binzangi and Tahirah Reynolds as the seminar speakers. They each bring deep expertise\, heart and lived experience to their work\, and we’re excited for the conversations and tools they’ll be sharing. \nThis session will be offered in a hybrid format\, so you’re welcome to join in person or via Zoom\, whichever works best for you. \n Topics: \n\nCoping with rejection\nManaging anxiety and stress on set\nWork–life balance in the industry\n\nExtras: \n\nGuided meditation or energy-clearing exercise for confidence\n\n✨ Special Surprise:\nTwo in-person participants have a chance win a 20-minute individual session with the speakers. \nPizza and pop will be provided for in-person attendees. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto\, specializing in mental health and health. Her previous roles include work as a youth worker at 360°kids and as a research assistant at the University of Toronto. \nTahirah currently practices with Breanna Chanelle Therapeutic Services and provides trauma therapy through the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Black Health and Social Services Hub. Rooted in a commitment to liberation\, she brings warmth\, honesty\, humour\, and depth to conversations on race\, mental health\, and identity. \n⭐ Tish Binzangi\nTish is a registered therapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)\, with over 10 years of diverse experience across social services and mental health. She has supported children\, youth\, adults\, and families in various settings\, including the education system—where she served as a Child and Youth Worker with the York Region District School Board—as well as special needs therapy (IBI and ABA)\, newcomer settlement services\, and programs supporting individuals and families impacted by drug and alcohol addiction. \nHer approach is grounded\, compassionate\, and deeply client-centered.
