DESCRIPTION:Join the YEAA Committee of ACTRA Toronto for an evening celebrating short films created by ACTRA members. \nYEAA Shorts: Exhibition Series is a year-long initiative designed to showcase outstanding ACTRA-made short films and inspire the next generation of filmmakers within our union. Selected films will screen at Rolling Pictures’ screening room in downtown Toronto\, followed by a moderated Q&A with participating artists. \nEvent Details\n🗓️July 31\, 2026\n📍 Rolling Pictures – 150 John Street\, Toronto\n🕡 Doors Open: 6:30 PM\n🎬 Screenings Begin: 7:00 PM\n🎤 Q&A: 8:30 PM – 8:45 PM \nSeating is limited to 20 ACTRA members. Advance registration is required to secure your spot (see below). Registration closes at 11:30 p.m. on July 30\, 2026\, or when maximum capacity is reached. \nAs YEAA is a committee focused on ACTRA members who can play ages 17–30\, members within this demographic will be prioritized in registration. \nAfterparty\nThe celebration continues at Blessing in Disguise (150 John St\, Toronto\, ON M5V 3E3) immediately following the screening. \nCome support fellow ACTRA members\, connect with emerging filmmakers\, and celebrate the creative work happening within our community. \nWe look forward to seeing you there.

SUMMARY:YEAA Scripts Table Read (Peer)
DESCRIPTION:The second YEAA Scripts table read will take place on Thursday\, August 6th\, 2026\, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the ACTRA Toronto office (625 Church Street\, Suite 200\, Toronto)! We’re looking for YEAA ACTRA members who are interested in observing the table read and providing their feedback after the reading. \nA pre-cast group of YEAA performers will read Peer\, a pilot script written by WGC member\, Josh Granovsky. Josh grew up in Toronto with the dreams of abandoning free healthcare to follow his passions. He is an Executive Story Editor on CTV/The CW’s “Sullivan’s Crossing” and co-wrote its Season 3 finale. He previously wrote material for the live touring show of Crave/Hulu’s “Letterkenny” and his short film “WYD?” screened at the National Screen Institute\, TO Webfest\, Canada Shorts Film Festival\, and more. He graduated from USC’s Writing for Screen and Television MFA program\, where he won the Jack Oakie Comedy Award. He was also selected for Out in Hollywood’s 2023 Out Loud List and received the Telefilm Canada New Voices Award. \nFollowing the reading\, participants and the audience will have the opportunity to discuss the script and provide feedback in a collaborative development environment. \nLight refreshments will be provided. \nCapacity is limited. Please RSVP below to watch the table read by 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday\, August 5th\, 2026\, to confirm your attendance.
