Dear ACTRA Toronto members,

Today marks three years since ACTRA performers across the country were locked out of commercial work by a group of advertising agencies.

Three years since the work we built, the careers we nurtured, and the industry we supported were treated as negotiable.

Three years of standing strong — of holding the line in the face of pressure, uncertainty, and hardship.

This anniversary is not one we celebrate. It is a solemn reminder of the fight we did not choose but had no choice but to meet with courage and unity.

Over these three years, you — our members — have shown unwavering resilience. You have continued to affirm the value of professional performers and the importance of fair and respectful labour practices. Your strength has carried your union forward.

We continue to pursue a just resolution, and we continue to fight for the respect and dignity every ACTRA member deserves.

On behalf of ACTRA Toronto Council, I want to acknowledge the sacrifices made, the solidarity shown, and the unbreakable spirit that has defined our community through this difficult chapter.

We remain steadfast. We remain together. And we remain committed to a future where our work, our professionalism, and our humanity are never disregarded.

In solidarity and respect,
Kate Ziegler
ACTRA Toronto President
