A Meaningful Step Forward for ACTRA Performers

Dear members, 

You may have already heard the good news: Saatchi & Saatchi Canada has resumed casting union commercials exclusively with ACTRA performers, under a new letter of continuance agreement!

This is progress. It’s one step, but an important one, toward restoring the fair, respectful, unionized commercial industry that every ACTRA member deserves and has fought for.

For more than three years, you have shown incredible strength and solidarity. You’ve rallied, organized, spoken out and stood together, and it’s making a difference. This agreement is a direct result of that determination. It’s a signal that momentum is shifting and proof that when performers stand together, we can open doors that others tried to close.

While we are proud to share this development, the terms of the agreement limit how branches and member leaders can speak about it publicly, specifically to the public and media outlets. Victories like this don’t happen in isolation. They are the result of collective action, strategic advocacy, and a union that refuses to back down. As we move forward, we’ll keep building strength and creating the conditions for more wins, more work, better work, and a stronger future for every ACTRA member.
