Hello ACTRA Toronto Stunt Community!
Election to the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee is an opportunity to get involved with your union, advocate on behalf of your fellow stunt community members and advise ACTRA Toronto Council on issues affecting the community.
To ensure diverse and equitable stunt community representation, the 12-person Stunt Committee:
- must include at least 2 Stunt Riggers
- must include at least 2 Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) Stunt Performers
- must include at least 3 Stunt Women / female-identifying Stunt Performers/Coordinators
Key dates:
- March 17, 2025, at 12 p.m. ET – Nominations opened
- March 31, 2025 at 12 p.m. ET – Nominations closed
- April 7, 2024 at 12 p.m. ET – voting opened
- April 14, 2025, at 12 p.m. ET – voting closed
Voting Information
Voting was open to Full Members of the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Community. Voting eligibility was based on a compiled list of those with work experience in a stunt category.
The 2025 Stunt Committee Election was conducted by ElectionBuddy, a third-party online voting software company.

Role of a Committee Member
The role of a Stunt Committee member is to advocate for and support stunt performers in the industry and work on initiatives that promote safety, equity, and career sustainability. The exact expectations can vary, but in general:
Time Commitment
- Meetings: Typically, the Stunt Committee meets monthly, but additional meetings may be called as needed.
- Events & Initiatives: Committee Members may be expected to participate in stunt-related workshops, outreach efforts, and industry advocacy, which could require additional hours depending on the scope of projects.
- Email & Discussions: Ongoing engagement between meetings to provide input on issues, review documents, or assist with advocacy efforts.
- Total Hours: On average, a Committee Member might expect to dedicate 5–10 hours per month, though this can fluctuate depending on initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Industry Advocacy: Engage with ACTRA leadership, producers, and other stakeholders to address stunt-specific concerns.
- Safety & Standards: Support initiatives that promote safe working conditions for stunt performers.
- Policy Input: Contribute to discussions on contract negotiations, working conditions, and representation of stunt performers in agreements.
- Community Engagement: Act as a resource for ACTRA Toronto stunt members, bringing their concerns forward and working on solutions.
