Vocal Combat Technique™ 3-Day Workshop
ACTRA Toronto and the Video Game working group are thrilled to host a three-day Vocal Combat Technique™ workshop, taught by Julia Lenardon, a certified VCT Voice Combat Teacher (First International Cohort, Dec 2023).
WHAT IS VOCAL COMBAT TECHNIQUE? VCT Vocal Combat Technique™ helps train professional performers to repeat believable violent vocal extremes in the healthiest manner possible. It is a proven training method, by creator D’Arcy Smith.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: This three-day workshop introduces a solid technique foundation for correct and safe impacts/effort sounds, barks, screaming; yelling, groans, choking, battle cries for film/tv and video games. These techniques take time to learn and need diligent practice in the and beyond the workshop for easier integration in studio/mocap.
WHO CAN APPLY: Any ACTRA Toronto member in good standing, including Apprentice and AABP, are welcome to apply. 10-12 ACTRA Toronto members, age 18 and over, will be selected to participate. This workshop is ideal for voice actors and performers with some experience or training who are ready to add vocal combat techniques to their toolkit. Application does not guarantee acceptance into the workshop.
